  1. Dude, totally sorry about Madison being cancelled. As a fellow 50 stater (3 states left) and a local Madisonian, I feel your pain! I’m embarrassed that my local marathon has gone the total wussy route!

  2. P.S. This is the first time on your site… I’ll be doing Missoula in July also, and since you remember outfits, keep an eye out for me and say hey (I’ll be in the hot pink t-shirt and pink floral running skirt). I’ll be wearing the same outfit during the half in Madison if you still decide to come for that. (and by the way, I can recommend other better races in Wisconsin to check off Wisconsin from your list…)

    1. Thanks Lana! I was definitely disappointed the Madison race was canceled but I found a way to get another state in…blog post soon to follow! It would be great to meet you in Missoula! I am so excited for that race. I would love to hear your recommendations for other Wisconsin races…I’m thinking the Wisconsin Marathon in Kenosha because it’s cheese themed and I love themes…and cheese.

  3. You are one, hella, funny woman. Keep it up. I hope to meet you (officially – from reading your race reports, we’ve been in several events – just not formally met, yet) in the future. Take care!

  4. Hey T-Rex Runner, Love what you’re about and doing! Did You Know there’s a fun Instagram T-Rex online? I came across the postings on Pinterest (and obviously on Instagram). You should check it out sometime…good stuff! ‘Smiles for Miles’ from Nell aka @RoadRunnerFL

    1. Hey Nell! It’s funny you mention that, because shortly after I decided to start this blog, funny T-Rex pictures started popping up everywhere. People post them on my wall all the time! I wish that was the reason I named my blog T-Rex Runner instead of my awkward body type, but it’s not. Oh well! Thanks for reading!

  5. I don’t see a link on here for the tshirts. You would get more orders if you had one. hint hint. 🙂 I am working on it! 🙂

    1. Aww thanks Wendy! That is awesome! Is it a problem that I couldn’t name 15 blogs off the top of my head? Fail.

  6. Hey Girl.. got the shirts — even my non-running daughter loved hers ! She was a camp counselor this week & wore it there cuz it’s so cool. If you do Prairie Fire Marathon let us know.. we can pick you up if you fly or help you around the huge metropolis of Wichita !! Or, if you want to do a horrid trail marathon, we had our first Storm the Dam Trail Marathon last weekend, so it would give you a year to work up the balls to do it. Run up the side of the dam, it sucks. Love your blog, love you, let me know when/where you do Kansas (well not DO kansas, but you know what i mean), and we will wear our cool t-rex shirts and come see you… as awkward as that may be!

    1. Thank you so much, Sherry! I actually am looking into Prairie Fire for my Kansas marathon. I wanted to do the Garmin Marathon in Olathe, but it’s the same weekend as my boyfriend’s birthday, and I am 80% certain he would break up with me if I did a marathon on his birthday. I will definitely let you know!!

  7. Hey! Tried confirming something for latest blog/vlog and tapped newest entry, which somehow marked it DELETE. Tried to make it go away and well, it did. Entire new post disappeared from list. So, apparently I will not be inundated with the 75 email responses I’ll surely perish without. Wah, please help. Plus, I just sent you a super lame joke. T-Rex pebble points?

    1. I don’t know how to fix that. My blog knowledge is very limited outside of posting hilarious GIFs. Maybe try signing up again?

  8. In the midst of magazine deadlines, I opted for a lovely FB reprieve and stumbled upon your blog post: “I eat dirty and I like it.” I was intrigued and have been reading your posts for a while now. (I’ll get to work soon, I promise.) You are quite witty and candid. Last year I started running and it taught me so much about myself. Thanks for sharing about your journey! Have you run the Route 66 marathon? You should! I’ll buy you a craft beer and a burger.

    1. Thanks for writing, Betsy! That’s my aunt’s name, btw. Anyway, yes, I have run Route 66 – I did it last year and I loved it! I will be back to run it again this year and will be speaking at the expo. I will definitely take you up on your offer! I hope to see you there! 🙂

  9. Thank you for your story in Women’s Running, “do you have a runner’s body?” I tell people that I like to run, but that I am not a runner, because I hate that quick up and down look that (sometimes silently, sometimes not) says, “huh, you don’t look like a runner.” I have just recently started teaching Pilates and get it there too, although much less subtly.

    1. Wendy, thank you so much for taking the time to comment! It’s heartbreaking, isn’t it? I realize that many years ago, “recreational” runners weren’t very common and so body types for those who did run were more homogeneous, but the general population has been running for a while now! As awkward as it can be, I think it’s important to identify yourself as a runner. Otherwise, how will people begin to learn that runners come in all shapes and sizes?

I am a barre instructor and although we have people of all sizes and shapes in our studio, I do sometimes feel self conscious and worry that I don’t look like the image my clients expect, too! I totally understand what you’re saying. Ultimately, I think all they care about is that you deliver a kick-ass workout – that speaks for itself 🙂
