The Secret’s Out!

I have some very exciting news today! Drumroll please….

I am the newest columnist for Women’s Running magazine!

The proof is right here in the June issue, which I didn’t even know until reader Stephanie tweeted it to me. That’s how on top of things I am right now.

Yes, it’s true. You can now enjoy even more of my musings on a monthly basis.

I was asked back in February to write a monthly column for Women’s Running, and I was incredibly honored. I’m also an extremely superstitious person, so I did not want to say anything about it until it actually came out. My column starts in July, but I was featured as June’s Blogger On the Run as a sort of introduction. Because I knew I was moving to Tulsa for awhile and wasn’t sure where I would be, I don’t get the magazine in the mail, which means I had no idea I was in the June issue. Awkward! I’ll be going out tomorrow to buy approximately 1 million copies of Women’s Running so I can give them to random people on the straight while pointing to the picture of me, so if you want one, let me know.

My new column will be about the same thing my blog is about, which is to say it will be about everything and nothing all at the same time. I’m slightly concerned that my heavy reliance on animated GIFs will screw me now that I’m in print and can’t use them. I suppose I’ll have to actually write good material now. Admittedly, it was a little ironic that I was asked to write this column at a time when I currently cannot run, so I’m hoping that I’ll be taking my first steps in a few week and can write about those, assuming I do not keel over and die. Otherwise, things in the column are going to get weird.

Oh, and I live in Oklahoma now. No big deal. Full road trip recap to come. Spoiler alert: It involves a homeless man in a Confederate flag cape, as all good stories do.

  1. You moved to where I live!! How awesome is that?! Congrats on the column. I might have to subscribe to that magazine! I was born and raised here in Broken Arrow so if you have any questions, just ask. Welcome to the neighborhood!

    1. Thank you so much, Jennifer! I am really excited to be here and loving it so far! This is such a (surprisingly, no offense) cool city!

  2. Hope you brought your bike to Tulsa. If so, you need to come to the Wednesday Night Ride and find the SFTT Diva flag. It’s an awesome, supportive group of women!

    1. Thanks so much, Lynn! I did indeed bring my bike, although I’m not technically allowed to ride it yet. As soon as I get the clear, I will definitely come out!

  3. OH NO! It has escaped and is now unleashed on the world! 😀

So psyched for you – you are always such a great and entertaining read, so genuine and authentic and honest … I can’t wait to read your new venture.

    And good luck in Tulsa!

    1. Now I am being forced upon hapless victims that thought they were getting a quality publication! Muahahahahaa.

    1. Um, obviously I would autograph it. Just make sure you send Women’s Running and not Runner’s World, although I’d be happy to autograph that too.
